Rein I like how you clean.
Your scrap quilt is very cute :!: |
Think sewing is much more fun than cleaning anyday. Quilt is so cute and you used up all those pieces. My DH says that all the time about my desk - I thought you just cleaned it. Don't think he looks in the sewing room.

I lOVE your scrap quilt. What a lucky foster child.
When I am not in the mood to sew (?) I love to "clean" my quilt room. (read "fondle fabric") Before you know it, I am at the machine, inspired by something I ran across while "cleaning". And then the room is a bigger mess than when I walked through the door! :D |
Thanks to all for the comments. I do want to straighten out one thing - that I did not make clear at first. I do not have a foster child - would love to be a foster parent, but dh would not take it well. BUT, I do review cases of kids in foster care as a volunteer.
I also decided when I started quilting about 1.5 years ago, that I would make quilts and donate them to kids going into foster care over the Christmas Season - most often they enter with nothing of their own and receive few Christmas gifts (I also get the little gift cards off the Walmart trees and buy about 5 kids gifts). Guess you could say I am a sucker for kids. But I love doing it and it affords me good practice and a reason to be quilting other than I like doing it. |
Oh yeah but look you did accomplish something...

You don't think it's because doing this sewing is more fun than cleaning do you? |
I love it. My kind of quilt

i personally like your idea of cleaning...do you think the kids would get mad if I made all their clothes into quilts instead of washing them all the time??!!
|
Hey - that sounds like a plan to me! You will get more out of them that way than by driving them to the Goodwill - LOL

God Bless your heart Rein, there is nothing more important than to bring a smile to a childs face specially during christmas.
