Is there any reason it can't have just a solid border around it. Sometimes people put the border on only three sides. It is a great place for a pretty feather. Stained glass does always have a frame around it, the glass. So the outer solid border would be like a zinc frame around the real stained glass.

I would agree with everyone who suggested just adding a dark border. Pretty quilt.
