Every year for the sunflower festival in Gilliam, LA, we have a contest where children draw a sunflower picture and then we pick one to be on our t-shirt. Last year, all the pictures were so great, I decided to make a quilt with the help of other committee members. We were going to raffle it off but we decided to keep it and display it in the museum. Thanks to BettyB and her group of quilting friends who hand quilted it. The Shreveport Times had an article on the quilt with a picture in today's paper (6/2/11). The festival is this Sat (6/4/11) in Gilliam if anyone is this area would like to come. I'll be working the children's art booth. Gilliam is off Hwy 71 north of Shreveport. Pictures are being attached ( hope).

What a fabulous quilt! The kids must be so proud.
And I love how you put it all together. Was that blanket stitch done by hand or machine? Because it is AWESOME! As is the hand quilting done by BettyB & Co. |
So perfectly beautiful. I can tell it was done with love.

What a cheerful, bright quilt! How could anyone not be happy when they look at this?
The kids are certainly great artists and the quilters who worked on the quilt are fantastic. Great job done by all. |
So nice of all you ladies, good job and here's a big pat on the back to you all.
