I only have one bathroom but it has 3 electrical sockets. How do you blowdry your hair? Or use an electric razor?

I love your new quilting room. It gives me creative thinking, maybe I'll move my kitchen table into the living room for better lighting...

reneebobby 09-05-2008 02:32 AM

    this is way to funny and everyone said there comments already that i would have said.

As for electrical in the bathroom you can have as long as it is GFI so you won't get electricuted.

Love the pics.

In the U.K. you are not allowed any outlets whatsoever apart from a shaver socket which has lower ampage and you have to dry your hair at your dressing table in your bedroom or wherever...here in Spain anything goes.....

Heres a couple of pictures of where I sew through the day when I can see!!

So that is why the table moved so easily you just had to push. Love it.

Izy.. I just made the office go very quiet just then after I made one huge hollar out of me!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Hey you gotta go where the best lighting is right!!! and I just LOVE the upgrade you did!!! oooh my I have tears in my eyes here.....

(okay composing myself)

on a serious note... it looks like that room is working for you and you are getting lots done... and the fact that you are on your own all weekend, just think of the projects you can get quilted up in that time!!!!

You go girl!!!!!

gcathie 09-05-2008 04:17 AM

Hey Izy if it works for you ...you go for it....

Knot Sew 09-05-2008 04:34 AM

The best thing I bought is grow light bulbs. They are great. I have a three light stick lamp and it has bendable things on eACH LIGHT. great light, turns night to day without much expense.

Just curious...how many rooms in this house. It looked big in the pictures :D

Bevanger 09-05-2008 05:32 AM

oh my gosh..... too funny girl. hey if it works...... go for it.

sewjoyce 09-05-2008 05:47 AM

Thanks about the tip of grow light bulbs...now whether I can buy them here in Spain is another thing..

The villa has four bedrooms with a master suite, two lounges and a large dining kitchen.....not as big as it looks from the front view, it has a wrap around balcony which makes it look a lot bigger Ruth!! :-)

Sewjoyce...have to confess I always tidy up after every session, which was 5am this morning before crawling into bed, then back up at 9am swept, mopped all the floors etc., ready to free me up for the day. I am abit of a neat freak

Quilt4u 09-05-2008 06:08 AM

Neat. A go any where sewing room. I think we all need one at one time or an other.

Ms Grace 09-05-2008 06:46 AM

Too funny! But hey, if it works... go for it! :-)
Very clever. :-) :-)

sewjoyce 09-05-2008 06:52 AM

Hey, don't be embarrassed about being a "neat" freak -- I have my moments but just usually not in my sewing room :D

Marcia 09-05-2008 07:04 AM

Izy-I was not on the computer yesterday so I just found this thread. I think this is without a doubt the most ingenious "quilting room" I have ever seen. Good for you for thinking outside the box and doing what needs to be done to get the job done!!

Izy 09-05-2008 08:38 AM

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Lynne 09-05-2008 10:12 AM

Izy - - you crack me up!!!! LOL!!

mgshaw 09-05-2008 12:58 PM

Poor little Sasha, she looks to be thinking "Please dont take over my little corner too!!"

Izy 09-05-2008 01:19 PM

Melissa, Sasha follows me EVERYWHERE., she was looking at me trying to work out if I was leaving the room and getting ready to follow me... ..even if she is fast asleep outside and I go to the loo....she always seems to know and comes in for a cuddle while I am contemplating.....

Butterflyspain 09-05-2008 01:27 PM

Izy, Love the new use for the Loo. Like the new quilted Throne too. Izy I thought you were mad and you have just confirmed it. Go for it, good light is essential, but you are going to have crossed eyes doing all that sewing. Bet Sasha is confused.........this is not what I thought it was room.

LOL

Elle - I tell you I quilted the whole quilt in about 5 hours and it went like a dream...all the stitching is in the ditch...well apart from the odd little bit and the back looks really neat too....so I am a happy bunny, I have got the binding on and half hand stitched to the back, but I am too tired tonight....burned myself out last night lol!!

mgshaw 09-05-2008 02:06 PM

OH Wow!! The back is Gorgeous too!

Izy 09-05-2008 02:13 PM

Your so kind Melissa, I decided to use up all the pieces of fabric leftover. The central fabric was about 4" shorter than the front block section, so I just added another strip top and bottom to balance it out, I am really pleased with how this quilt has turned out...I might put it on our exhibition in October what do you think?? :?

mgshaw 09-05-2008 02:24 PM

I think you should Izy!!! its a beautiful quilt!! I love the soft colors in it!!!!
I always see people piecing the backs and I think they are so cool but havent worked up the courage to do it myself! That would take me out of my little comfort zone!!!!

Izy 09-05-2008 02:42 PM

I was worried sick about lining them up, I didn't want all the seams to be together as I thought it would be difficult to quilt in the ditch if there was a double seam and could look really bad,if you didn't manage to line them up perfectly... so made the back borders to be off-set to the front....but squaring them both up to each othermwasn't too bad in the end, its a little bit off but not so much you would notice. I really wanted to do a giant disappearing 9 patch, but didn't have enough of each fabrics .....but next time...!!

beachlady 09-05-2008 03:04 PM

Your back is just as nice as the front!!! Great job, bathroom and all.

Marcia 09-05-2008 04:55 PM

Izy, Your back is as pretty as the front. You did a great quilting job too!!

Butterflyspain 09-06-2008 12:47 AM

Hey Izy, that is beautiful girl, what a lovely job you have made. Right thats me in the Loo as well now, we have loads of light in there as well. just as well they make the bathrooms big in Spain. Ingenious seat as well.

Yes, yes, you must put that one in the October show. :D :D Elle

tlrnhi 09-06-2008 02:19 AM

Oklahoma Suzie 09-06-2008 09:39 AM

Grandma Cindy 09-10-2008 07:58 PM

you must have someone take a picture of you sitting on the loo with quilt under-hand!!! You could be published in the fall !!

sewnsewer2 09-10-2008 08:04 PM

That sure is pretty!!

mamatobugboo 09-10-2008 08:31 PM

quiltsRfun 09-10-2008 11:05 PM

Hey, whatever works for you! Love the quilting. You did a great job. With the pieced back it's like two quilts in one.

Rose Marie 09-11-2008 01:46 AM

Now I have seen it all.

Diane007 10-13-2012 03:59 PM

sorry you had me laughing....

Bluelady 10-13-2012 04:01 PM

This is hilarious! That is probably the only room I haven't taken over here!

ging10ging 10-13-2012 04:05 PM

I think I would buy a square of foam and have some cushioning for the sitting. I know Joanne's sells them thick as I imagine other places may also. Lightening is very important when sewing. I just bought a few wks back one of the lights that have like the 5 or 6 bulbs they were selling for back to school and you can turn on all of them or 2 or 3 depends on what you need. It was $20. but it's worth it. I always say whatever works use it. Sue

brendaln 10-13-2012 04:07 PM

I say whatever works for you. Love the quilt.
