Just maybe...this won't be too bad. I'll do mine first--for sure.

You could do a wood grain look in the brown stall parts, micro stipple in the black around the horses, echo the red triangles inside them, do some cloud shapes in the blue triangles and do a swirl of some sort in the burgandy boarder, or maybe even a geometrical triangle design to go with the triangle sky and barn roof.

I think this would be really fun to quilt! But then again the quilting is my favorite part. I know you aren't as crazy about it. :)

Rachel--those are great ideas! I could pull some of those off. I traced the pattern in the wood grain with my finger and didn't know if I could do that justice... but cloud shapes are easy--I have some perfect QD shapes to use--and I love the echo in the triangles idea--that will be perfect!! :-D I could do the horse shoes along the bottom... and if I practice a bit I might be able to micro stipple...maybe.

Rachel, that was going to be exactly my suggestion! Wood grain in particular and then to just go around the horses to make them POP. The micro stipple would push them out even further and really make them look great!

I think with the triangles I'll echo the top two sides, rather than all three... make sense?

I'll go stare at the wood grain... maybe I could just follow the lines in it.

Darn good thing I got those 100 spools of thread for Christmas--I've used sooo many colors for these babies.

I'm working on a quilt now that I'm doing FMQ on. I drew a design on rolled paper, traced it onto Sulky Solvy. Then I pinned it on the quilt and followed the lines...well, I tried to anyway. I'm not really good at staying on the lines, but for curliecues, it's not going to be noticeable that I goofed. You could try something similar on a sample sandwhich and see how you do. It's fun and worth a shot! I've been sick for a couple of weeks and not done with mine yet. But hope to complete in a few days and will post pics.

You can do it Karla! The micro stipple would be the easiest part! But if you wanna mail it to me, I would be happy to try my hand at it. I don't charge anything, but with that price comes no quarantee. :D

If it were me, I would try to find shapes pertaining to horses and make some templates, then do it myself. Let's see horse shoes, saddles, barns.......I can see it now.

No saddles..these are minis. :lol: Oh--gee--they don't wear horseshoes either. :roll:
