Oh dear, what memories! My first kitchen curtains were chicken scratch ORANGE gingham. I guess that tells what era I'm from. LOL. I love the pin cushion--super job!

Whoa! This is absolutely just so well done; great fabric choices. So happy to look at, bright and, well, beautiful. You are very luck to have it! Nice work Mawluv.

Wow! Memories, I used to do that every so long ago on my daughter's dresses and I had forgotten all about it. Thank you for posting. I don't recall it being named chicken-scratch but who cares it is lovely work.

I made a chicken scratch quilt (king size) 13 blocks chicken scratch (star) and set with 12 plain blocks. quilted the star in the plain blocks. Did this about 20 years ago while wintering on Texas. Still using in Texas

Yes indeed that is "chicken scratch". My grandmother was an avid creator of aprons (that she sold at farmers markets) with these designs. I still have a few of them even though they would never fit my waist now (lol).

Lovely, too pretty to use for pins. I made book marks using the Chicken Scratch pattern. time consuming but pretty.

fantastic treasure

This is really a treasure! I know what you mean about receiving something special. I was participating in a block swap and it was such a blessing, I would receive little gifts like stationary, extra blocks, neat little pins and colorful pens, and even samples of neat little tasty treats sometimes.

My aunt made me three sets of pillow cases with chicken scratch on the border when I got married in 1954. She made some for my daughter and my mother too. I love them. Still look good.

It is darling!!!

My grandma made a quilt with blue gingham that my mother has now. I have done about four blocks. It is time consuming but fun.
|
That is SEW cute!!

I did chicken scratch years ago. I enjoyed it.
|
That's a lot of work for a pn cushion. I use a magnet. But... your's is much prettier.
|
That is awesome. I love the work.

OOOOhhhh, so pretty! I worked chicken scratch when I moved to SC (can't believe it, almost 30 years ago!) on a curtain and valence for the kitchen window in my new house and also a mixer cover. Yellow gingham. Still in the same house, still have that valence and mixer cover!!! lol (still hanging in the window and covering the mixer!
