When I was a kid, (in the 70's and early 80's) my mom would buy boxes of these amazing feed sacks at auction sales. No one else bid on them, so she would get them for a couple of dollars. She would open them up, hem them and we used them as dish towels. I always thought it was fun to have such colorful dishtowels. Now I wish I had a couple of boxes for my quilting! How fun to find a ready made project.

They are treasures. Very pretty.

Heather, I had to laugh when you asked if that was the fabric I was going to put them on. They are on my design wall which is covered with threads and 'messy'. I need to go over it with a sticky roller.
I am putting them on nice white muslin and using a blanket stitch and raw edge applique. They are turning out beautifully. Also doing QAYG. I will post another picture when I get them together. I finally figured out how to post pictures!! (They also don't have the centers on them in the picture. I was so excited I didn't think of all the details!! |
I love the Dresden plates pattern. Working on one for nieces friend expecting little girl in fall. Wow, I just thought I better get a move on. 4 babies due this fall. Laters!!!!!!!!!
