Gret quilt. The quilting is wonderful.

Truly a work of art. Love the binding and especially how the quilting sets it off.
Beautiful!

I had someone request muslin for the back of a quilt last year. I washed it before I sent it off and I am now a muslin user. I really like your quilt!
WOW!! That is gorgeous! I'm surprised you could finish it in that amount of time as that is a LOT of hand quilting!
Beautiful Quilt, and love the quilting. Great Job.
Beautifully pieced and beautifully quilted.
Beautiful, I am glad some people are still hand quilting.
That quilt is gorgeous including the borders - they look perfect. Terrific quilting too. Tks for sharing.
A beautiful quilt and I'm glad you didn't listen to those who said it was too monochromatic - you have a nice mix of reds with a nice mix of fabric choices. A fantastic quilt, to say nothing about the gorgeous quilting.
This is beautiful, I love your borders. Glad you followed your own feelings.
Very pretty quilt. The borders are great and your hand quilting is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

It's a block of the month pattern from Block Central in 2010. I believe it might still be there although the site seems to have gone inactive. Sentimental Journey might be the name.
It activates when you click on "Coming in 2010". But here is the page after the click, http://www.blockcentral.com/bom2010-intro.shtml The last step, borders and sashing, is not there.. |
That is beautiful. I know you are proud

Very pretty. When I'm "just making a quilt", I've got to satisfy myself first.

Beautiful quilt
It looks great. you did a good job on hand quilting. I also do hand quilting. It took me off and on
over 5 years to get the one that I will be posting when I get the label made. Maybe in the next week or so. |
That's great.
It is certainly not too monochromatic. Your quilting is a fine finishing touch.
This is beautiful... I love the colors.

Something you said interested me. You said that you did machine quilting and hand quilting on the quilt. I often do that but always feel that I have the quilt police looking over my shouder and snearing. Often I will stitch in the ditch or echo the sashings and then hand quilt (mostly around the figures) the individual blocks. I find the hand quilting adds a certain life to the blocks that machine quilting would not do. I don't do FMQ so it would be just straight stitching. So what I'm saying is that you have set my heart and mind at ease. That is a lovely quilt!! Sooo -- what parts were hand quilted and what parts were machine quilted?
BTW. I love monochromatic so this one is absolutely appealing to me. |
My mother was a county fair prize winning hand quilter. We used to give her a hard time because she carried her "quilt brag book" over her grandchild brag book. She has 21 grandkids and 8 great grandkinds!) I did not get into quilting until several years ago because I could not quilt as good as she did. But I loved it and with practice I have gotten much better. Now my mother is no longer with us and I miss her so . I wish she were here to compare our finished products and go to more quilt shows together. She was an insparation to her granddaughters to. Several of them are now heavy into quilting. We love getting together and comparing our creations. She would have loved the red in your quilt. Beautiful.

Beautiful heirloom quilt...
Note my signature...My first quilt a queen size took a year and a day to hand quilt....You're great..keep up the hand quilting...it's getting to be a lost art..... |

Very beautiful quilt, besides I love samplers.
