I like Thimblebug's suggestion of putting colorful, bright fruit in it. I think it looks great.

That turned out great. I learned to make them at a quilt retreat two years ago. I have since made coasters for all of my quilting friends a small gifts. I always have a cold drink near my sewing machine or where I am quilting. The coaster keeps a puddle from forming.
It is fun to see what you can make from scraps. The hardest part is starting and stopping. |
