I remember you asking opinions on the blocks. It is looking absolutely lovely! I really really like it! If at any point you don't want it anymore - I am willing to adopt it! :D :D :D Stunning as it is. Looking forward to seeing it completed. Thank you for sharing. :)

It is comming alone Great, I am glad you put the black strips all in the same place on the block. It always gives it a second pattern. The log cabin is one of my favorite patterns, I have made at least 10 of them.

BeckySt 01-27-2013 04:56 PM

I love it.

passionpiecer 01-27-2013 05:11 PM

I love it - it is really pretty.

Gorgeous...love your blocks and layout. You should be very pleased with how this is coming along...it's going to be a stunner.

I love the log cabin and I love black and white with a touch of red. This is perfect.

JNCT14 01-28-2013 05:24 AM

oh thats fabulous. I love Sunshine and Shadows patterns. Another one to add to the list!!!

ghquilter53 01-28-2013 05:42 AM

Looking really good. Try an inner border with that center red fabric...very narrow.

DebbieG 01-28-2013 05:42 AM

Stunning, what a beautiful quilt!

SewCraftyGirl 01-28-2013 06:38 AM

I LOVE your updated photo. The pattern really pops. I particularly like your placement of blacks. Whoever suggested that had a great idea. Thanks for sharing the update!

Black and White Quilt

WOW!!! That is going to be one Beautiful quilt. It looks as though that is lace on it. I just love it. You're doing a wonderful job on it.

quiltmom04 01-28-2013 07:29 AM

LOVE IT!! The placement of the black is perfect - good contrast and because you left some black on the outer edges, it give it movement too. I'd say you're ready to sew! Good job!!

gramquilter2 01-28-2013 07:41 AM

Love the layout you have. Really like black and white quilts with a pop of color.

justflyingin 01-28-2013 07:46 AM

I really like what you are doing. I haven't even done one Log Cabin of any kind yet. Definitely must do it! Good work...this will be really a beautiful quilt when finished!

quiltstringz 01-28-2013 07:49 AM

Look great I had been thinking about a B&W log cabin but wasn't sure - you have made up my mind. Thanks for sharing

DeAnne-Mn. 01-28-2013 07:49 AM

Looks great, gives me ideas also.

imnywoman 01-28-2013 07:54 AM

Absolutely love the black and white!!

callen 01-28-2013 08:23 AM

Looks awesome.

fireworkslover 01-28-2013 08:39 AM

It's looking great! As others have said, keep going. I also agree with a narrow red border, flange or piping next to the binding.

northern lass 01-28-2013 09:04 AM

Wow! Very striling.

JanieH 01-28-2013 09:10 AM

I really like how you repositioned the black strip. It is going to be lovely when you finish.

ecmlbrant 01-28-2013 09:12 AM

Very striking! I really like it. One of the best things about black and white quilts is that the fabric selection process is much easier.

DJinSC 01-28-2013 09:24 AM

Oh, that's beautiful! The black is in just the perfect spot!

solstice3 01-28-2013 09:45 AM

phenominal!!!!

ArtsyOne 01-28-2013 09:57 AM

I'm not usually a big fan of B&W quilts as they tend to all look alike, but yours is so nice and subtle and the red square is not so jarring. Very nice - please post when you're finished.

maga 01-28-2013 10:24 AM

The white fabric looks like lace to me. Love it. "Maga to 3

JoanneS 01-28-2013 10:30 AM

I really like it! It has a lacey look.

MargeD 01-28-2013 11:06 AM

Love it, looks like this will be my next family reunion quilt. The family members sent black/white fabric or white/black fabric, but I choose the pattern, but sometimes I have trouble deciding. This time I kept going back to the log cabin quilt, as I've never done one for a reunion quilt. Just have to do the top and my oldest niece will LAQ it on her new toy. Great quilt.

nannyrick 01-28-2013 11:26 AM

Stunning!!! Great job.

Auntie Em 01-28-2013 11:55 AM

Stunning!!! Love it!!! Good job!!!

oldquilter 01-28-2013 02:52 PM

Love, love, love it. Hope you keep your sanity to finish it! Amazing quilt.

CherryPie 01-28-2013 05:00 PM

Wow...it's going to be an awesome quilt when you finish. Love your colors and the placement of your blocks. I never would have thought of putting them that way. Did you say when it was finished, that it was going to be for me??? lol I haven't tackled a log cabin yet. In a BOM class I was taking, we had to do one block and I can't say that we had a very instructive teacher so mine turned out really wonky so I just haven't had the courage to try a whole quilt. Please send us a picture of the finished quilt. You do fantastic work on all of your quilts.

sewdamncute 01-28-2013 06:10 PM

The placement of the black works well, looks great!

LillyandGish 01-28-2013 06:14 PM

Love how the center is not a solid red! Very interesting, it's wonderful!
