I used Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly batting in this one, but I also use Warm & Natural cotton batting. Both are a rather thin batting, which I prefer.

I'll just bet each of those tiny blocks and pieces were all hand quilted by her. A beautiful quilt, you did great too. What an heirloom.

Yes, they were. I looked at the back of the top and it's so neat to see someone's hand piecing stitches from 80 or so years ago. I look at them and wonder what they were doing while stitching those - were they talking with loved ones, listening to the radio, sitting on the front porch, watching over grandchildren, etc.
