Terri - Mary Ellen will be most welcome, we've got vegan neighbours so she'll fit right in! And Hans says a) he'd rather you brought another girl than your hubby and b) if she's good at fixing stuff, she can borrow Hans' list and tick some things off while you're here! LOL

K x

PS While Hans and Mary Ellen are busy with all that ENGINEERING type stuff, you an' me can drink champagne and talk about sewing! LOL

Hmmm....not sure how I'm taking Han's "a" response. Tell him HANDS OFF, SHE'S MINE! :) lol
Oh, we will have to drink wine. Champagne is ok, but gives me a wicked headache.
I used to worry about making things when we would have pot lucks. She would always say that she could always find something to eat. Someone would ALWAYS make a salad! lol

Oh, tell Han's that he is going to be our Cabana Boy. We are going to just sit back, relax and he's going to cater to us. lol

I can see by your description of Maryellen, why you two, compliment each other. I study personalities. You guys, fit, no doubt.

She is such a great person!
When I was talking to her the other night, figured we'd just have one of our 2 hr marathon calls. I called her at 12:30am. We hung up at 5:30am. Yep, marathon call! It's funny, we will not see/talk to each other for weeks/months and then once we do, we just pick up where we left off. Just like no time has passed what so ever.

I was veggie myself for a couple of years a while back and I used to just take the veggies or have a salad - she'll be no trouble, plenty of veggies and salads here! Also, lots of veggies have great recipes in my experience because their diet is more limited they are more inventive!

Hans doesn'tt have any designs on her in THAT way - he just likes girls better than blokes, LOL! As for being a Cabana boy, when I told him he made a rude gesture using only one digit if you know what I mean so you'll have to take that up with him; meanwhile I'll make sure there's white and red wine and champagne then everyone's happy!

I even hand delivered it to her. I was in Hawaii at the time and did a surprise visit to her. She had no clue!
She loves people, comes from a HUGE family and loves to have people around, but also loves her quiet time. Ya'll will just love her...I do!
I told her once that if she were a man, I'd divorce hubby and marry her. lol I'm sure you'll all love her as much as I do.
Oh, and she's quite handy around the house too! Since she's not married, lives alone, she's learned how to fix TONS of things.
She's a vegetarian...but not one of those that will down people who eat meat or anything. She just doesn't like the texture of meat....strange, I know.
I'll have to make sure she packs an empty suitcase too....never know, I might need more room. lol

Well I have just been catching up with all the posts since I last wrote and I feel I know here already LOL. My daughter became a veggie for just that reason because she doesn´t like the texture of meat. No problem for me either.

She sounds lovely and yes opposites usually get on very well together.

Now about bringing that extra suitcase might it contain tools, Hu hemmmmm,
:D :D

Oh, she eats fish and seafood, no worries there, just not meat.
Is Hans telling us his age? He's 1? lol Tell him I love him too! lmao

Elle, you'll love her, everyone always does, she's just a great person!

I dont' think she'll be bringing any tools with her. lol
Just an empty suitcase for all the pretties we will see. :)

I was checking prices, just trying to figure out about what it would cost. The cost WENT DOWN!!
This is for this year, but check out the price! Can't see it going up all that much for next year, do you?

5:15 pm Depart Richmond (RIC)
Arrive Malaga (AGP) 4:10 pm +1 day Tue 15-Sep

7:05 am Depart Malaga (AGP)
Arrive Paris (CDG) 9:30 am Wed 23-Sep

1:30 pm Depart Paris (CDG)
Arrive Richmond (RIC) 8:33 pm

That doesn't include the price from Paris to K's place. Gotta get that price figured out.

For the same dates, if I were to go to K's first, then on to Spain....I'd have to leave from Washington, DC and that price is $692.70

Not bad, huh????

I just put in round about dates.....it'll be sometime in September

This is one of the best threads I've ever read.
Terri - you are an angel, no matter how hard you try to avoid the label. your brownie points are stackin' up miles high.
Spain and France will never be the same after you and Mary Ellen visit. Both countries will be on their knees pantin' and whimperin', "More, more!" And those doggies will be sniffin' the air and thinkin' "I'm sure there's a BIG kitty or 3 around here somewhere - - -"

AND I'm eager to see the Oriental themed quilt from those gorgeous fabrics!

On the subject of France and Spain travel, DH and I will be on a cruise in late September through mid Oct along the Atlantic coasts of France and Spain. We signed up because we'll visit places we didn't see when we lived in Munich!

k3n 05-25-2009 07:40 AM

Terri - Hans is just looking to see if you can fly from Malaga to Bordeaux then we can pick you up from there. It's less than a couple of hours drive; Paris is 4-5 hours so a plane or train to Limoges would be the best bet. Limoges is an hour from us. He just said there aren't any from Malaga to Bordeaux BUT if we can work it round a time when Hans is passing Paris, which he does most weeks, he can pick you up there. IF you can behave on a four and a half hour drive in the car with him - HE SAYS!

Sorry Elle - your thread is well and truly HI JACKED lol!

Do you want to call by as well Joanne? I think we'll have to convert the barn into a guest house (with ensuite sewing studio OF COURSE - bring your own stash!) :D
