It was a lot of work and hubby thought I would never get her back together. He is not mechanicly minded at all but great at refinishing wood. She does sew but something is not quite right with tension. Not sure whether it needs tension adjustment or I need more lessons on a treadle :)

Thanks for all the kind words, I have been made to feel very welcome here as a newcomer. thanks for the encouragement on the machine, I might just tackle hubby's grandfather's banjo next.

I soaked the metal parts in kerosene and it really did not do much and I was reading on the internet about getting rust off of metal and someone said they used Coke. I tried that and it worked better than anything else! |
