Rhonda-I would love to see one of your quilts in person. Your work is incredible.
What do MQX and MQS stand for? |
MQS is Machine Quilters Show or imqa.org
MQX is Machine Quilters Exposition or MQXShow.com these are the 2 large machine quilting shows |
The class list for IMQA looks like fun and way too many to choose from! I'm hoping to make a choice depending on what vacation days I get. I have a Grace GMQ with a Juki TL98Q and what intimidates me the most is actually loading the quilt. I never can get it right.

Beautiful.

Absolutely Spectactular (sp?)
Wow all I have ever done is quilt in the ditch, cant even imagine the creativity, patience and time for this. |
Ronda is a dear, dear friend and I am the founder of MQX. MQX is Machine Quilters Exposition and it takes place in Providence, Rhode Island, April 12-17,2010. MQX has over $20,000 in prizes and prize money for the competition. We hire 3 NQA certified judges and the show is juried (with some exempt categories... kids, charity, emerging entrants). There are over 140 classes at the show in machine quilting, art, drawing and piecing on all kinds of quilting machines ..... domestic, midarm and longarm.
Ronda was our Special Exhibit machine quilter this past spring at MQX. There were 25 of her quilts on display and all worthy of gawking in amazement. Her works in mind boggling (and she's humble too) and I love her like a sister. MQX will add a second show in the fall of 2011 in Portland, Oregon at the Oregon Convention Center. Sorry to blather on and on..... thanks for listening! Janet-Lee Santeusanio MQX Founder Hampton Falls, New Hampshire www.MQXShow.com See you there! |
Wow! It's absolutely beautiful!
|
Ronda, that is stunning! It's gorgeous, as are all of your quilts. You are a master of longarm quilting.

HEY ANNE! It's JL!!! She IS a master, isn't she.........in ever sense of the word. She is teaching several classes at shows this spring and they will sell out quickly.... one already has. I can't wait to see her again...... we live WAY too far away from each other!

Maybe I'm just stupid but I have tried to get on the web site you have posted and I dont see any of your work. What I have seen posted on here is beautiful makes me feel like I should be on a beginner web site.

Let me try the webshot link again... http://community.webshots.com/user/RondaBeyer
I haven't updated any photos in quite some time, hope this works.... Just checked and it works, I will post some a new picture later, I quilted late last night as my granddaughters slept, maybe if I say I will post a new picture everyday I will get this quilt done, guess I am getting bored with it already |
All I can say is wow you are a really talented and patience person
|
How are you marking the pattern to quilt? Ponce? Stencil? What kind of marker? Questions, questions!!
|
Wow, what a gorgeous quilt. Your quilting is stunning and your applique and colors are perfect.
Did you design this, or were you inspired by a pattern? I really love it.....beautiful! |
I did design this, the applique us all needle turn, I used some ultra suede as well... As for marking I have been using a Marvy marker that disappears in time (purple color only) and in the large plain blocks and the setting trinagles I used a Clover blue wash out marker as i will soak and block this when done..... Again thank you all...
|
I really admire quilters that do needle turn applique. Your patience and skill are enviable.
I once saw a king-size Baltimore Quilt that of course was all hand appliqued and hand quilted. It was extraordinary and truly priceless. Do you ever get to So. CA to teach classes? |
Just curious, is this gorgeous creature for your home, for sale or commissioned by someone else?
|
I went over and read up on you. It must have been nice to have your family members to give you a hand learning. So many years of work has turned you into a master. I love your beautiful quilting.
|
Ronda, I'm not sure there are any adjectives left for me to use! Royal Icing is gorgeous and your quilting is exquisite. I'm sure it will be another prize winner. You do such beautiful work.
|
