Olde Brawd brought me this quilt for LAQ. We discussed design ideas while she was here..Her only real request was to put a thread on the back that would show...boy is that difficult for a LAQ sometimes...It shows every flaw...LOL.
But I love the result..it is so pretty!
The quilting follow the seems in the HST ...so unlike my normal fern design....it doesn't create the cross hatching effect ...this created the nested diamonds on the back....On the front the quilt goes from light to dark within the big diamond...such a cool effect..love this quilt.
I used hobbs polydown batting...I quilted this freehand using my INNOVA.

Your quilting definitely made this quilt a "twofer". It is like a wholecloth on the back and gorgeous batiks on the front. Another great pairing of quilting with piecing.
