Truth be told, I think you should call the back the front and vice-versa. I love your surprised puppy of plaid. Those ears up make me think of a hound dog bouncing for joy or ears blown back from sticking his head out the car window. The simple circle eyes and nose truly make him. Such personality. Great puppy dog quilt.

Thank you. I agree with you - it's a very reversible quilt. Personally, I like the back more than the front!
Isn't it amazing how our brains can resolve a problem creatively when left to their own devices?
The back is really just a big block, so the block could be made smaller. I'm imagining a quilt top made with sashing between each block, or even no sashing between blocks. I think it'd make a nice quilt for anyone of any age if done in the right fabrics.

Thanks so much. I pictured a brandy colored cocker-spaniel my neighbors had when I was a kid. He would always run to "his kids" when they walked home from school, ears flying.
