Love your spider web. I think spider web is my favorite scrappy, I've done several.

Hi fran, the base triangle ( actually called a KITE in geometric terms) is the center portion or background of the pattern. Each block is made of four triangle parts that intersect on the diagonal. I didn't pre cut mine. I used a rectangle that fit over the center and trimmed it after sewing the first strip to it on the paper pieced pattern. It is easier to go to the link rather than try to explain.

The little red square is my own addition to the basic pattern but not original, others have also done this.

I added the link to Quiltville in post # 19. If you go there you can see the whole tutorial and even download the pattern.
    peace

What a great scrappy quilt. You know, I have the same problem with my stash and scraps. I do my best to keep them organized in plastic totes, such as baby, Christmas, patriotic, etc., etc., but I have this problem with getting sidetracked along the way and I'm still disorganized. I tend to start projects, pull fabrics out from various bins, then there is the problem of getting the fabric back in the right one, sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't, but when I try to reorganize I find hidden treasures in fabric I forgot I had.

I love this pattern. Yours is much prettier then the one I made my nephew. He wanted his in shades of greys and black-it is still a great looking quilt but I prefer the bright and cheery colors in yours

Very nice. My scraps are organized, they are in a plastic tote. They only try to jump out when the box gets too full. haha.
