A tube quilt is - you cut 2 strips 2-1/2" x WOF Sew right sides together press open - cut another piece 4-1/2" x WOF and lay on top of the strip, sew both sides - cut with ruler on the 45 degree line, laid on the seam. Open up and press - you will have a square. I cut 15 strips of each color. This quilt measures 67"x76" Approx.

Thank you everyone for the nice words. I'm glad you all like it.

Oh cool! That sounds like it makes making the squares w/triangles easier! I will try it! I've got a list of my family members names with their favorite colors because I'm planning on making them all lap quilts for Christmas. This sounds like it might make the process faster!! Thank you for the info.     :-)

Yes, the triangles match up perfectly, Don't worry about the points, When you sew the pices together, you will have points and a scant 1/4" seam, scant 1/4" is a tiny bit less than a 1/4", just threw that in in case you don't know.
Missouri Star Quilt Company or Missouri Quilt Company has a tutorial on how to make the tube quilt, she says to cut the wide piece 4-1/4" - that isn't right, cut it 4-1/2" so it will be wide enough. Hope this will help you. Thanks for asking.

That is a great quilt. I love the purple. What a pretty floral too. Great job and thanks for sharing.
