    They look wonderful as is. You could go around the butterflies once or twice, depending on the batting thickness which is hard to see in a pic so you be the judge. You could cross hatch but IMHO they are light & airy now, like a butterfly should be. Original work is always exciting! Thanks for sharing.

    I agree with Kate leave them the way they are unless you might want to outline the body of the butterfly itself. I really like echoing. Be sure to post the completed quilt. Looking goo so far!!!

    Crosshatch is nice or half-crosshatch and outline your butterfly.

    What you have looks great, if I did anymore it would be shadow just one time around the Butterfly maybe 1/4 " out

    These are beautiful!! I think the stitching around the butterflies would help them stand out and skip the cross hatch. Please show us the finished quilt too!!

    I love your quilt, butterflies are one of my very favorites, if it were me I wouldn't do any more quilting on it, I think it looks just great the way it is. I think if you added more quilting it would take away from the butterflies. HUGS

    couldn't tell is you quilted around the butterfly itself. I think it needs to be stitched around, then decide if that is enough.
