Default QAYG Placemats and Matching Mug Rugs

I made a set of 4 reversible placemats and 6 mug rugs for a charity auction this week. Scrappy scrappy, made a good dent in my scraps (though I still have way too many). They are very spring-y! I just did quilt-as-you-go scrappy diamonds, and lined them with some neutrals down the side. My first QAYG project, but I think they turned out well. They're 14"x20" and the mug rugs are 4.5" square.

For future QAYG projects, I think I'll press the batting with a hot iron before I cut it. It got warped a little due to the pressing, and while the dimensions weren't catastrophic, the puffing of some of the fabric between sew lines was annoying. This wasn't a problem for the mug rugs, just the larger 7.5" pieces of the scrappy diamonds.
