Is qayg difficult? I'm a beginner. But I think I'd like to try it. Do you have directions for the second one of your quilts? It's very pretty.

No. I just use what I have and sometimes even cut them to match. I forgot to mention the blue is the back of the quilt. It's a Quilt As You Go so the top, batting and backing is all done at the same time.

No directions. I just watch YouTube and started pulling out pieces to sew.

Difficult? No. However, I used thick batting and it was a challenge to sew through all layers when I put those little connecting strips on both sides at once. I watch a lot of YouTube and this idea came from the GormetQuilter. I used thick batting but she uses thin.

Started with 9 1/2" and ended with 8". My sewing isn't all that great and I had to square them up since they were all a bit different. Strips were mostly 2 1/2" but I had other sizes to fill in with. The one thing I didn't want was all the same since then I would have to match them block to block. Tried that once and it was a disaster. This way no block has to match up to any other block.

No, just use what you have. I have one that is 1/2" on there and one that is a lot larger. Whatever fits works for me. :-)

In QAYG you cut the backing block and then the batting to fit and then start quilting pieces for the top through all the layers. Things shift so start with a larger backing and batting block than you want to finish with. That makes squaring it up easy and it comes out looking nice. :-)
