    Default Quail wallhanging

    I started this on a retreat in October hoping to have it finished for Christmas. Well, I finished it in time for the New Year! I'll be sending it to my wonderful MIL. She's not really a "quilt" person, so I went for "art" instead. It is 100% batiks. I love how it turned out!

    It's raw edge. Very hard to see in the pics. I tried to kind of thread paint the individual feathers etc.

    I agree, this is a gorgeous quilt. I like that you used shades of brown for the border letting the birds be the focal point of this quilt. They are so beautiful.

    The pattern is "New Blessings" by Kathy McNeil available through AQS. I used her pattern and took a little poetic license
