    I'm with the others who suggested not cutting it at all. I would do a "whole cloth" sort of thing, using a small print color co-ordinated backing and echo quilting this as the top. Too lovely to cut up and also save some time and labor!
    Let us see whatever you decide to do!!

    We all agree its beautiful. I would not cut it either. Can you just match a lining of solid color and the quilt it along the design to make it pop out? Thats what I would do. Just you making the quilt is what shows you care. I do not think the servicemen and women are particular. They will appreciate the time and love shown in putting it together. .
