So I purchased some fabrics for the heck of it. Then I found out that our neighbor in North Carolina's daughter is pregnant. Long story but 17 and pregnant, I'm not real happy about it. BUT baby Natalie still needs a quilt.

I found this fabric and feel in love with it. DH says that it is not right for a baby quilt. I have been making most of my 'baby' quilts not really baby any more. I want them to be able to use them basically forever. I thought that the colors and the bright were perfect for this baby and her momma. Lauren is such a bright, happy, beautiful, smart girl. So what is your opinion?

So I am planning on a 3d pinwheel with the strip as thebackground of the pinwheel and the large print in the alternate block. Thoughts?

This is the quilt for my best friend's granddaughter for Christmas. Alexis is almost 7, so it is a bit more mature. The applique is called the Ohio Rose. She was born and lives in Ohio, so I thought it was appropriate.

Closer picture of the aplique block. I just love how the Triple Irish Chain lends itself to this type of layout.

I thihk it would be really cute for a baby girl, I probably wouldn't use it for a boy. But that is just me...

They know that the baby is a girl and her name is going to be Natalie Renee.

These are absolutely gorgeous and definitely appropriate. I love the watermelon fabric and I believe totally appropriate for a growing up quilt (smile). Go for it. Thanks for sharing.

Both are Great! I really love the watermelon fabric and would love to have some. I agree about the bright colors for a baby. :)

Wow, I love those fabrics and so will the baby as she grows older and will love the quilt you plan on making. Unless her mommy decides to use it for herself, lol. :-)
