Default Quick Trip quilt for a quick gift!

Here is a quilt I made as a quick gift for one of my friend's mother. It's a quick trip quilt from Eleanor Burns' Quick Trip Quilts book. I originally got the book because I thought it was one of my Meemaw's favorite quilts to make, and the more I read about it, the more I understood that she made Trip Around The World quilts. It turned out great and I love the backing fabric. I know it may be a little loud for some people, but, this definitely suits my friend's mother's personality. This is the second quilt I ever did the actual quilting on. I used painters tape as my guide. Have a great day everybody!

Love your quilt, especially the colors and the polka dot borders. Great job on the quilting. I've made several quilts using that book. They really are quick and easy. I may just use your idea for quilting on a couple of baby quilts I recently finished. Thanks for sharing.

Mr. Kevin Your quilt is beautiful & the backing perfect. May I ask, about the tip for the painters tape?

Hi Lana......I received the suggestion from Lori S. Perhaps she would be willing to do a tutorial???? I used blue painters tape to mark the quilt. I quilted straight lines on both sides of the painters tape. It was very simple to follow, and you can reuse various pieces of tape. You can make some contemporary straight line quilting in this manner. Thanks!
