Quilt 4 of 365
#20
I had a question in my guest book for Nancy, Nancy, I don’t sleep much theses days, that gives me more time. I am always thinking about the next mini quilt and what I am going to do with it so when I have time to work I get right to it. In my sketch book (which is more about notes then sketches) I write down all my ideas as they come to me, while watching TV, reading QA, when ever…it is always by my side and I am sewing a bag just for it so I will always have it with me. Also I don’t freak about if it does not come out just as I would have wished. There are no wrong or bad quilts, it is all a process. I let myself have fun with the whole project. It is a learning process and these mini quilts are a jumping place for future projects either in colors, style, or technique. I read a great quote yesterday in QA , I did not write down the artist name, so please forgive me. She said, “I firmly believe that everyone is creative in some way and that being an artist is something we can learn. Why do people think that artist are just born, springing forth like Athena from the head of Zeus fully formed and ready to go” I love this quote because I feel the same way. I want to be a Quilt Artist, This is the path I am using to get there and I am just taking anyone who wants along for the ride. I am so looking forward to quilt 365 and to look back and see if I am a Quilt Artist.
Nancy also if I was going to join them into one large quilt at the end. At the end of it all I will join the majority of them into a wall hanging. At this time I am thinking gromets and jump rings. Some I will frame in shadow boxes and give as gifts or sell.
