You did a wonderful job on this quilt. I love the colors and the fabric in the plain squares. This gives me an idea of what to do with a print I have. Thank you for posting the pictures.
You have my sympathy on your MIL's death. God must have needed another angel at Easter time. Sorry to hear about the damage to your garage and your water heater going out. It does seem like things like this happen at the same time.

Your quilt turned out so beautiful. My mother was like yours, never could please her either and like you said it was just the way it was and I learned to live with it. Sorry your life hit a huge lot of pot holes, hope things improve.

Wowzers! That quilt is absolutely beautiful, I love the colors. You did a wonderful job! I hope your mom comes to appreciate it. I am sorry to hear all the problems you have had to deal with but I am glad things are now looking brighter. Grandchildren are such a blessing.

Thank you everyone for the compliments and condolances(sp?). When I was in the middle of the problems of the quilt, I said to my brother that if she said something negative about it, I was going to say something I shouldn't. And he said well I can't promise she won't! But after it was finished, I felt better about it. And then after the trials and mishaps, I just expected it. Part of the reason I was so upset about the quilt is because I wanted it to be twin size so it would fit her bed. Now it is a bedspread. I did talk to her about it, but who knows if she'll use it or not.
As for all the other stuff that happened, we have temporarily fixed the roof until our contracter can get to it, we found a new truck to replace the crushed one, the new water heater is awesome and my MIL affairs are being handled. So many people were praying for us, God worked it all out. We just need to sell her house and we're good.
