You made a lovely quilt for her. I understand because I have the same problem with my Mother. All you can do is try your best. You certainly had a hideous time with everything that happened to you. KEEP the faith !!

The second I saw your beautiful quilt I thought, "Mothers Day". Somehow it makes me think of all the sweet things that motherhood brings. Your experience with your mother is a lesson to us all, I hope what comes out of my mouth is always an expression of how much I care for my children.

It is a beautiful quilt for you to inherit someday in the future. Sorry that your Mom is so negative and glad you have come to the point where can accept that. It is a lovely work of art.

The quilt is beautiful. I am sorry you had so many problems with it as well as an amazing number of stressful events in your life. I pray that life will settle down for you now.

Funny you should say that about inheriting the quilt. My brother told me to make whatever I want back! She has been known to give back gifts to the giver.
As difficult as she can be sometimes, she is still my mom. I love and respect her. She used to make quilts- you'd think she would appreciate the work that goes into one. If she knew how much I agonized over the pattern, colors etc.
thank you for your kind words.

Mine are still at a point where I can gently correct them on their harshness, but sometimes you just have to let it go. Know that we all love your work here and that we were all rookies once!
Thank you for appreciating my work. Knowing Mom, she won't say anything to me and may tell all her friends about the quilt I made her, saying she likes it but it's too big. Lol i have learned that she probably isn't going to change and I wanted her to have a quilt from me. If she doesn't use it, then it will be like new when I get it back. LOL
