Quilt Blocks/Estate find

Quilt Blocks/Estate find
I got these 2 Quilt Blocks (both framed) at an Estate Sale over the weekend. Does anyone know what the name of the block would be? Not much help from the people selling them other than the man said he thinks they are from Germany.
The light blue one is 17 x 17 (just the Block). The second picture of the light blue shows the hand stitching.
The dark blue one is 18 x 18 (just the block). The close up is not very good (sorry, my cameras battery died) the block is not showing any hand stitching.
I was going to take both frames apart to see if they are dated and signed but have not decided on that yet.
Thank you for your help........have a Great week!

these were more than likely made by the Hmong. They were made refugees during the Vietnam war and later. These blocks were one way for the women to make money to help feed their family. I saw them often at quilt shows in the 70s
if the designs had names it was a design particular to the person who made it, much like vintage hawaiian pattern types were often favored by a specific maker.
these blocks were usually priced at about 10.00 each

Thank you Kalama for the information. I did some research on the Hmong Embroidery and I agree that these blocks are that. At least I know what they are now and they are pretty and will go in the guest bedroom for now. I only gave 15.00 for both, the frames alone were more than that.
