I have a real neat book on thread techniques which describes what you did for the tree. I have always wanted to try that but never quite thought up a good idea for it. What you have done is truly a "thread artist". Since I have been an apparel and home dec sewer all my life I have trouble thinking out of the box. But I will say quilting is stretching my brain and this board is certainly helping with the artist part.

As a newbie to quilting, I did not realize quilting had rules to break, she said jokingly. What a beautiful creation. Maybe I should break some rules and get more creative, myself. Your quilt is gorgeous!!! Whoever owns or is going to own it, is one fortunate person.
