Hellish is not bad but I am kind of embarresed to tell the theme. DH did not have a clue...........
I reread the original thread to jog my memory.

So here's just some barely coherent ramblings:

Now that's it done, I would suggest some of the quilting detail the snake to really make it stand out - maybe even a bit of trapunto. Thread painting/embroidery? Not a ton. You want to emphasize the scaly skin and slithering movement. Even if it's many echoed lines of straight stitching following the movement of the snake. Way too many words to express what I'm trying to say but I hope you understand. You want to smooth it out a bit but not too much because you want the viewer to appreciate how you worked the design into the kaleidoscope.

Since the top above the snake is supposed to be all la-di-da- ville, perhaps you could FMQ some flowers into the kaleidoscopes. Paradise, no?

That would contrast with.....hmmm, how do you quilt hell? Or the collapse as you originally wanted. I see you didn't go with the iphone picture your DH did - I thought that was a great idea.

Do you quilt the missing pieces to show they're missing? As if they were complete kaleidoscope blocks?

It is a bit messy down there....so it's hard to infer what you were trying to imply with the part of the design under the snake. :-)

    Hmmmm, more pondering is required.

    Hi MTS

where are you hiding? My mothertongue is not english and you sure use a lot of complicated words.
I dont think it will be possible to make any FMQ because of all the seams. The bottom is also troughout kaleidoskope pattern, to make an impression of "falling apart" its done with the same fabric and the picture does not show that. But in real you see the single segments as the fabric is kind of a blender

Just quilt it with CC. (continuous curves.) ()() around each piece. there isn't a key on the keyboard to make a curve for a diamond lol... I love it. You should enter it. Since your binding isn't Done yet you should do the binding in red or the blue it would look great.
