I saw this Moda Jelly roll - Arnold's Attic and I bought it. Never had a jelly roll before so I also got Fields of Flowers (jellyroll friendly) pattern. Loved the fact that I didn't have to do much cutting! Wasn't too enamored of the lighter fabrics in the roll, but had fun sewing the strips and blocks together. I had always thought that the more I sewed, the straighter my seams would become, but that didn't happen. All in all it was fun and the lighter fabrics have actually grown on me, I hope my friend enjoys her birthday gift.

Love the quilt. I thought my stitches would become straighter too. Still working on that. I want to make a jelly roll quilt also.

I love it and don't think it would be as pretty without the lighter strips. Lucky friend you have.
