    Cool Quilt I finished tonight

I will admit I cheated! The center of this quilt is a panel. It's for our newest grandson who will be 4 months old tomorrow. And he will be here to visit this weekend (and they are staying for 2 weeks) so had to have a new quilt for him. I did try my hand at some free motion quilting on the panel section - around the stars, the bear on the horse, the hills, etc. First time I have ever tried FMQ - it's not perfect but it is done.

    Happy Weekend!

Such a cute quilt!! Not cheating either. Good for you for starting on FMQ, it does take a lot of practice I hear. I've only done two small projects. I'm sure your grandson will enjoy this quilt for years. Congrats on the finish.

It's adorable. Panels are not cheating, they are a fabric and can be cut in any way you'd like to cut them. You chose to use it as a big rectangular center to the quilt.

Your 'grand' will love it to tatters, of that I'm sure.
