    I like rag quilts they are fun to make. I have never added an extra layer for backing like you did, looks nice, does it make the quilt very heavy?

    There is no extra layer....its just a front and back...the front is 3 pieces of 3x7 rectangles sewn together...the back is just a 7x7 square in other color...those 2 pieces were just sewn together..no batting or anytthing.

    I did it all...its a twin size....a GOOD pair of spring loaded snips makes all the difference when doing these.
