Very nice label and creative. Thanks for sharing. I usually make my own labels but am always watching for new ideas. I bought a book of iron-on label transfers and am finding I can't seem to find a label in there that works for me.

She had a friend help her with the French Knots who also knows Braille. Alma's niece also stitched in German the names of all those who helped work on the quilt. She hand embroidered along the quilt lines echoing the information. It's almost invisible because the thread is only about 2 shades lighter than the material. I thought that was very clever. So if you run across a quilt anytime that feels really nubby, it just might be labeled in Braille!
This is such a tender story of a huge loving gesture. God bless that niece. I hope your neighbor gets to enjoy the quilt for a very long time! Diabetes is such a dreadful disease.

How do you figure out where to place the label before you start quilting?

Good idea for a label. And very cute, too.

Thanks for sharing. Love your label...I'd heard about doing your labels that way. I think that's a very smart way of doing it.

Yes that label is extra special in my book and an inspiration as well. Thanks for showing it to us

Is there a proper place for labels or is it quilter's choice? I usually try to place mine in the bottom right corner on the back, but sometimes they end up on the left side. Once I put the label part way up the side because the backing had a repair close to the edge and the label covered it nicely. I like the ones I've seen across the corners too. I used my built-in letters to sew the name and date into the binding on my reversible quilt and I have seen the label stitched as a block and pieced in the quilt also. I figure as long as it's labeled. It's good.

I machine stitch my quilt labels into the binding on two sides, then hand sew the other two sides
