Sorry to hear about your husband. I still missmine and he died more than 20 years ago! It is good to see that you are giving your children and grandchildren of remeberance of thier dad/grandfather. I'm sure they will cherish the quilt that you are making for them. I wish I was into quilting when my mom dies, I could've used her clothing for quilts for me, my siblings and her grandchildren. I do have a jean jacket that she used to wear that has worn out, so I'm making it into a car quilt for one of my nieces - I'm sure she'll appreciate it. She doesn't know that I had the jean jacket from her grandma, so it will be a surprise for her and something special for her.

The quilt you shared in the picture is perfect for the family. Such a masculine pattern...I can imagine they will feel a hug when they wrap themselves with their quilt. I know you miss your husband very much.
Yesterday was 2 years since my hubby passed, and all of his shirts are still in his closet. I haven't been able to do anything with them yet. Maybe I can now after seeing yours.
Less than a year before that, our 50 yr old son died from a stroke and I have nothing of his to use for making a keepsake. He and his wife lived in another state. They had no children.

Beautiful way to remember him, sorry for your loss. I too am working on my deceased hubby's shirts into quits for family members. It took me 2 years before I could work with them. Now I just didn't know he had so many shirts.
