It is clear your grandfather left you with more than just a simple quilt. What an amazing legacy! And it seems you've inherited his talent as well. :D
I have to say my heart just dropped when I read about your grandmother loosing the scrapbook of your grandfather's quilts in a fire. :cry: Glad she made it out okay!

How lucky you are to have such a treasure. As far as I know, no one in my family ever quilted before me; but now my daughter, granddaughter (9 yrs old) and grandson (10 yrs old) all quilt. I love being able to quilt with them.

My heart dropped too when i found out there had been pictures but now thanks to the 2004 fire that burned my grandmas house down, that there isnt any to be looked at anymore. But you are right I was just so glad that my grandma, aunt and cousin made it out alive.

I am taking this quilt home with me to Pinetops this weekend so my grandma can help me patch the few places that need to be patched. She said she can't wait to see the quilt again. :)
