Default Quilt for the News Correspondent

I have the top all finished. I just have to get it pinned up and I can start the hand quilting. I will be putting dolphins in the main body and waves in the border, just like the one that I made for myself.

When I send it, plan to ask for a couple of pictures of him opening it. Sure hope he likes it. This is him. His name is Richard Schlesinger.

Being a male, I think it is awesome and perfect for a man. Would love to have it myself.

I have seen him many times and admired his reporting. The quilt is very manly.

Very pretty quilt. I have not heard of him. How is it you are making him a quilt?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, especially that this quilt can be appreciated by a man.

Richard Schlesinger is my favorite news correspondent, and I have admired his work on 48 Hours, and the CBS Evening News for many years. I find him remarkably intelligent, always prepared, frequently humorous, and absolutely charming. It happens that we were born in 1954. We will both be 60 this year. I could not let this birthday pass by without marking the occasion.

I expect the quilting to take a few weeks. If I work on it every day, it may be done before the end of April. Richard was born in October, but I want to make absolutely sure that it is finished in time to get to New York City before his birthday.
