    if this is for a child and might see some washings, do not tie it...

    stitch in the ditch and shadow stitch around Sue and her arms, that is all the quilting she needs!

    I agree with kat . You should do just a little on sunbonnet sue to keep her from sagging off the quilt. If you go around her segments or put some lines in her dress just to tack her down.. wonderful quilt.

    if you quilt it, quilt around them. either with straight lines or cross hatching or do a meander around them.

    Stipple around the Sues and a loopy design in the sashing. Look around for a recent post on an antique Sue quilted by a LA that is just inspirational.
