Quilt pirates??

I'm not a fan of skulls either, but my g-sons like them. I was surprised when their dad let them have clothes with skulls on them. I do know alot of the fabric is being sold, even skulls with pink bows on their heads...lol..But this the first I have seen for quilting and knitting.

I'm with you on that Kathy. One more commercialized way to influence and desensitize the minds of kids. No wonder our cultures is in trouble. Does anybody else ever get the feeling that our national children are being used as guinea pigs by opportunists that care not one thing about their future?

Looks like some of the stuff a few of the "Goth" types at high schools are wearing. One of them made me nervous last year, he came in wearing black from head to toe with a long black old West flappy black coat to his feet and long black dyed hair, etc. With all these shootings at schools that was all I could think of, and with our going there for blood drives made me nervous till we left. Most of the kids are well mannered, in today's way, but the Goth look is way too far out for me.
And yes, I noticed that the teachers were aware of him every moment he was in the gym.

The skulls aren't so bad as I know several people [kids/guys] who would like them, but the one with the kid standing amidst that carnage is going a bit too far. For gosh sakes who would want to wear or have something like that???

They will sell. I think it would be amusing to sneak a little bit into a scrappy traditional quilt -- just to spice it up for someone who is looking closely.
The Knitmare on Elmstreet is quite witty. I'd make a knitting tote bag with that as the lining.
It may not appeal to you, but if it keeps a new generation of hobbyists interested in buying fabric, and encourages the market to keep producing a huge array of new designs -- that's a good thing, yes?
