lue - the connection to the Powwow is more timing than anything else. I've wanted to make a quilt using the design of the windows for some time, and it just worked out that I got it done in time for the Powwow. I did make it planning it would be donated to the school to use as they saw fit, so when it was half way done I showed them and they said they'd love to have it to sell at the Powwow, I made sure to get it done.

The actual event is called American Indian Days - and there are a lot of other activities going on around campus on Friday and Saturday for visitors to attend (all Native American themed) including in depth tours of the campus which includes the Chapel that has the actual windows. The Powwow is the highlight of the gathering, held on Saturday.

Oh, well done Cathy! Great to "meet" you (now that I've got a picture)! I watched a demonstration at this year's quilt show in Blue Earth on how to do a stained glass quilt. That gal said she used her twin needle to secure the bias tape (her's was store bought with adhesive on one side). That way both sides were firmly secured at one time. I have never used my twin needle but found the whole "stained glass" technique quite intriguing. My "to do" list is quite long...I might have to start sewing a little faster. I would have had a hard time parting with that quilt; you are very generous to have donated it for their auction.
