Quilt rescued
#43
I have a rescue from Goodwill that I got for under $2. It had twelve embroidered blocks, two duck print blocks and one painted embroidery basket, along with the connecting blocks of striped sheeting - it was poorly pieced, pleats, gathers, etc.
I took it all apart and pressed the embroidered blocks (put iron-on interfacing on them) and squared them up. Since no two were the same size, I did a twist and turn look with 30's fabrics. Now it is waiting in line to be put on the longarm (after the holidays).
I can hardly wait to see it finished.

After talking to dad and Louise they BOTH agreed that this quilt
was going to be perfect for the cabin, so they have accepted the
quilt as a new addition for the cabin.
We was planning to go up to the cabin this weekend and stay
through to next Thursday or Friday, but dad doesn't have enough
vacation time built up yet (he took 4 weeks off last May/June for
their trip to Italy). So with those plans out, we are just going to
their home (about 50 miles give or take 5-10) south of us.
I also wanted to update on the results of the quilt after I washed
and dried it. It came out BEAUTIFULLY! my hubs is sad that Louise
agreed to accept the quilt because he said he REALLY liked it, which
to be honest shocked me). He said that if Louise didn't want it he
would hang it above our bed.
Guess I am going to make him a quilt to hang above the bed SOON.
