    This was quite a different pattern than I have ever done. The pattern called for a 5 1/2" square cut in half. I am not sure what that makes the HST's. Then I sewed them together into pairs and put the yellow strip between two pairs. It was a different type of square with the 4 HST's on the outside and the yellow strip in the middle. It was easy though.

    OH!!! I get it now!! I was thinking to myself "why didn't she just sew the sashing on straight instead of mitering each one". I was looking at the colored patten as the "block" and the yellow as sashing. I see the 'block' now!! Clever!!

    That's how I looked at it at first too. It took my brain awhile to figure it out.
