I would set the blocks with a darker setting border around each block and contrasting cornerstones. Then do two outer borders- one narrow one and one wider one. You want some border width to quilt on.

I like it the way it is--it really draws you eye into your center focus fabric. I'd just do a small border around the edges in one of your darks.

I really like it the way it is. I wouldn't add more sashings. If you frame it now in dark that is what you will get is a frame and the end of the "quilt part". I don't know if I'm doing a very good job of explaining myself. If you want it to be a little bigger (I did read where you don't care the size) you could add some more of your lighter fabric then a narrow dark frame then another light border.

If you are happy with it the size it is then a narrow dark followed by a light wider.

This is just an opinion. Food for thought anyway.

This is something that I learned recently... when you have a quilt with so much going on you want to put a thin darker ( or lighter if your blocks are dark) border around the whole quilt top - this will "stop" your eye and the wider border after that should be a color or print that is in the quilt that will send your eye back to the quilt to look at it again. I hope that makes sense. It is a way of fooling the eye not to take just a quick look but really focus on the blocks. SInce yours have such lovely pictures I think that would work. Lay it out with some different border choices and see what makes you happy.

I agree with Faith....there is enought going on the way it lays. I would then put a darker narrow border around before adding a border strip from a material in the quilt. Your eye needs to stop with the center of the quilt. Love the material

I wouldn't put sashing around it, it looks a little more scrappy this way. I would switch the center blocks of the first row and the last row, I think the light dark would be a little more pleasing to the eye. I like the dark narrow border idea, maybe the purplish color from the quilt blocks. Bebe had good taste, I got some fabric from her and I love it too. Your color combinations really work with the panels. Nice job.

A suduko quilt is a quilt made like the suduko puzzle it is a little difficult to explain. However after looking at your quilt more and more I think I agree with the others that it is quite beautiful as it is and maybe you shoule just peice it together as you have laid it. It is an awesome looking quilt. Perhaps you can try a suduko quilt at a later date. I am sure with your sense of creativity it would come out beautiful.
