OH......This is way too cool. I'm going to try this one...Thinking about using raw edge circles instead but putting them together the same way..Still in the thinking stage about finishing off the outside edges...Any ideas out there?

yep, also known as Robbing Peter to pay Paul or Orange Peel. you can make a whole quilt or place mats, etc with those. someone here made one like your first pic with green and red and it looked like a poinsettia. beautiful.
brandys quilts has rulers for this. you don't really need them though. but pics help.

Deb,it's REALLY easy. I'm writing up my notes about how I did it, and will post soon to the tutorials section (unless abdconsultant beats me to it).

oh cool. i wouldn't have thought of doing it this way. it is kinda on the same order as a blue jean quilt i wanna make.

now i don't "have" to use denim. thanks.

i wonder if you could do this with squares, just turn on point and sew the points together? i'll have to try that with paper first and see if it would work.

i get so many ideas from this board. there is no way i can make all i want to if i lived to be 200. i just add more every day.

Very pretty..it looks alot like a cathedral window. I did one simular to this but the top square was a 9 patch that used a skinny strip and small square as the center. It was called "9 in the window"
