    This is beautiful. I just made a runner that looks like the same pattern. Did you use some muslin as a backing, and did you cut your strips all the same widths. I think it looks as if you did on your picture. I cut my runner strips the same width ( 1 inch, but it really took a lot of strips and I would cut them various sizes if I do it again ) I loved making my runner, but you are really brave to do an entire quilt. I love your work.

    Do you remember the Erma Bombeck columnist?

    She use to say put 2 wire clothes hangers in an empty closet
    at night and by morning they will fall all over you next morning.
    They will multiply like rabbits.

    SAME PRINCIPLE WITH SCRAPS.

    Which quilt as you go method did you use to get the small sashings? They really look great with your wonderful string quilt.
