    You could do that. I find that using ribbon and button that match the two bookmark ribbons is an added decorative element. Besides, I am not a huge fan of velcro

    The video tutorial is very thorough. It shows you, step-by-step, how to insert the zipper. Not at all difficult. In fact, you don't even need to use a zipper foot if you follow Karen Overton's method.
