jusst a word about paint sticks....PLAN ahead when you think you are going to do them. I really should make a tute...anyway...the reason I say that is , once you peel the skin of the stick, be ready to do several rubbings, so that you are only using one color (or maybe two) at a time. the longer the stick is unpeeled, the quicker it starts to dry again making a NEW skin! make/cover a large work surface, I love foam core board for this and blue painters tape! THe quicker and lighter you work, the better the results. Remember less is best you can always add another color or deeper layers of the same, later after the first layer has dried a bit.

I just love playing with paint sticks!

Those are lovely! And thanks for the link, I had seen these in Shipshewana & one of the teachers mentioned she used them but used turpentine on her brush and used them just like paint. It was good to see you could actually use them like a crayon too.

It's so much fun to just have some "coloring time"!

Very nice I've played with these some and you can use anything in your house that has texture under the fabric. I got one of those black gripper sheets to hold the items down better as I use the paint stick over it. Is there a monthly challenge that is for those who do attempt art quilts? I sure would like to be part of that. Please post something so I know about them. Thanks so much.
