Default Quilted and on its way home

jrhboxers asked me to quilt this gorgeous Double Irish Chain for her. At first I thought I would go around the applique instead of doing an all over design. I soon found out that I didn't have much control over my machine on the free motion end because of the thickness of the applique. So, we discussed it and decided to do an all over pattern. this is the finished product and is on its way home. What do you think? did we do right?
