    Oh, well...the directions said you needed a serger. I guess I can cross that off!!! :-)

    I don't know why serger is in the list because you never do any serging. It's optional to "finish" the edges but it didn't seem necessary -- the only unfinished edges were on the underside of the bucket lining (so it's never exposed).
